MATERIALS TO GATHER
Crayons, paint, markers, glue, sprinkles
Rocks: 2″- 4″ in size (you can hunt for these as part of the lesson)
Pre-typed poem (below) One copy for each person

Gather the family together and go outside and hunt for rocks. You will want fairly good sized rocks that can be painted and colored.
Bring the rocks back indoors and proceed to paint and color them, make sure each child has their own.

How to make a prayer rock:
1. Find a 2″ – 4″ rock, make sure you wash it thoroughly.
2. Use your paints, crayons or markers to make the rock the way you want it to look.
3. Put your name on your prayer rock.

How to use your prayer rock:
1. Make your bed each morning, and place your prayer rock on your pillow, when you are done.
2. When you go to get into bed, the rock will remind you to pray.
3. After you have said your prayers, put the prayer rock on the floor next to your bed.
4. When you step on the rock in the morning, it will remind you to say your morning prayers.
5. After prayer, make your bed and put your prayer rock back on your pillow.

Be sure to print this poem out to attach to your prayer rock.

I’m your little PRAYER ROCK
And this is what I’ll do
If you’ll put me on your pillow
Until the day is through.

Then when you turn back the covers
And climb into your bed
WHACK! Your little PRAYER ROCK
Will hit you on the head.

Then you will remember
To jump up and say your prayer.
Then dump me out onto the floor
And till morning I’ll stay there.

When you get up the next morning
KLUNK! I will stub your toe
And then your prayers, my friend,
You’ll say before you go.

Put me back upon your pillow
When your bed is made
And your clever little PRAYER ROCK
Will continue in your aid.

Because Our Father feels so sad
When He can’t hear from you,
I’ll help you to remember
Because I love Him, too!

Be sure to make a Prayer Rock for a good friend too, so they can remember to say their prayers
