Hi!
I don’t really know what the declaration stuff means but hopefully everything will be alright. Did you guys send Isdanishs letter? I got an email form her Sunday and she still hadn’t got it. I’m glad mom got the letter. It was weird not being there on mothers day. I wish I could have called.
I got the gift certificate, thank you so much! That’ll be really nice to have cause their cookies are sooooo good.
Yeah the proselyting experience was really fun. It was a good experience. We get to go again this Friday. I hope it goes just as good.
When you send letters through mission ties, make sure you send them on Saturday at the latest because it takes me a while to get them. I almost didn’t get this one but I’m glad I did. Or you can just CC this email address and Ill for sure get them in time.
The language is coming along. I can teach the first lesson which is the restoration, in Portuguese. It’s pretty cool but kinda hard. It’ll come though. I still have four weeks to learn as much as I can too so I’m not worried about it.
Hows work? Mom said she’s been doing pretty good at her job.
I love you, I hope everything is good!

The Elusive Ancestor

The Elusive Ancestor
by Merrell Kenworthy
I went searching for an ancestor.
I cannot find him still.
He moved around from place to place
and did not leave a will.
He married where a courthouse burned.
He mended all his fences.
He avoided any man who came
to take the U.S. Census.
He always kept his luggage packed,
this man who had no fame.
And every 20 years or so,
this rascal changed his name.
His parents came from Europe.
They should be upon some list
of passengers to U.S.A.,
but somehow they got missed.
And no one else in this world
is searching for this man.
So, I play geneasolitaire
to find him if I can.
I’m told he’s buried in a plot,
with tombtone he was blessed;
but the weather took engraving,
and some vandals took the rest.
He died before the county clerks
decided to keep records.
No Family Bible has emerged,
in spite of all my efforts.
To top it off this ancestor,
who caused me many groans,
Just to give me one more pain,
betrothed a girl named JONES.

I’ve done some research on this line and I was able to connect with a cousin in Wisconsin. I’ve unfortunately lost contact with him.

I have a little more in the Woottens than I have had time to put on the internet. I imagine there must be living members of this family still in Tehoma and Shasta Counties (California). I would sure love to hear from them.

A lot of research has been done on this family. There is a 3 volume set of books written on them. Here is just a very small portion of what I have.

I don’t know where the Speaks family was before they came to the US. I find mine in Illinois and then California. I would really love to know more about this family.

The Ryders tie into my Frawley line. They came from Ireland to Wisconsin.

This is a line I wish I could do more with. I really have almost no information about their life in Germany before they came to the United States.
